Art Class Theme – September: Pontillism

Explore the Dotted World of Pointillism—join our monthly art class this September

Looking for local art workshops, unique creative experiences, or fun painting classes? This isn’t your average paint and sip—our classes dive deeper into artistic styles and movements, giving you a richer, more engaging creative experience. This September, discover the mesmerising world of Pointillism in a beginner-friendly, hands-on session designed to spark creativity and connection in a warm, social atmosphere.

We’ll begin the class with a cosy cup of tea or coffee, followed by an inspiring introduction to Pointillism—the 19th-century painting technique where tiny dots of pure colour are placed side by side to form a complete image, transforming the way we think about light, colour, and detail.

Did you know Pointillism was born from the Impressionist movement?

🎨 Georges Seurat – The pioneer of Pointillism, Seurat developed the technique known as Divisionism, applying scientific precision to colour and composition.

🖌️ Paul Signac – Seurat’s close collaborator, Signac pushed the technique further, embracing vibrant colours and expressive landscapes.

🌈 Colour Theory & Optical Mixing – Pointillism relies on the viewer’s eye to blend colours optically rather than mixing paint—creating luminous, almost vibrating surfaces.

Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or rekindling your artistic passion, this class is a unique opportunity to play with colour, light, and form in a totally new way.

With friendly, step-by-step guidance, you’ll create your own original painting using Pointillist techniques. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and love of colour! By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork to display or gift.

What you’ll enjoy:

✔️ A relaxed, social atmosphere—great for individuals or small groups

✔️ Friendly, guided instruction—no experience needed

✔️ A brief introduction to the Pointillism technique
